Happenings 05.10.23

| | | | Hello all!  I hope it’s been a great week!   Thanks to all who donated their time and blood on Monday for the Red Cross Blood Drive!  You’re the best!  The Friday night dinner special is Meat Lasagna with antipasto (?) salad, bread and a surprise dessert for $18.  Please pre-order here: https://tinyurl.com/2m3zwcsp Another pool – grove – grounds clean up is scheduled for Saturday starting at 10:00 am.  All you need is your garden gloves!  Just a quick thank you to PGK Matt O’Hare, PGK Steve O’Shaughnessy, John Foley, Michael, Colleen, Bridget and Patrick Smith, Jim Lintner, Rich Little, PGK Doug Amann, Angela Ambruoso and her children for coming out and helping with the pool clean up.  Your help and time is much appreciated.   Big CONGRATULATIONS to Thursday night Doug and Nannette Amann for being crowned the 2023 Shuffleboard League Champions!  The awards banquet is Friday, June 2nd.    Please see the attached flyers for other June happenings:  Shrimp and Bull Roast and a Family Movie Night.  The kids summer camp registration form is also attached.   It’s a good time to go find that tent and air it out for Memorial Day Weekend!  Camping all weekend long (yes, the bathrooms are available) swimming pool will be open, Mass on Sunday, cornhole tournaments, bbqing fun, and the men’s softball league opening day is Monday the 29th.  Wanna play?  Maybe you have enough friends for a team?  Call Jim Lintner at 301-646-2344 for info!  The Clubhouse will continue with drop-in darts on Thursday evenings and will start up with drop-in shuffleboard on Tuesday evenings.  Both fun events start around 7:00 pm. It’s a perfect evening to chill-out on the deck with a refreshing drink in hand!  Just sayin’…….We received sad news earlier this week that Joe O’Connell has passed away.  Joe was the Clubhouse manager for years.  Most days, you could find Joe and his wonderful wife Donna at the Club, Joe hitting golf balls off the side porch, Donna chatting with her friends at the bar.  Their kids Kelly and Mike are Aquaknight alumni.  He will be sorely missed.  Please keep Joe and his family, Donna, Kelly and Mike and their families in your prayers.  That’s all I have for now!  Stay healthy and safe!  Hope to see you soon!!  KofC Clubhouse kofcclub@aol.com | | |
