| | | Hello everyone!   A bit going on,  so go grab that iced tea, close the door and read on!   The plan is the pool to open Memorial Day Weekend and a bit of help is needed please!  Chairs to be cleaned and rinsed, sticks to be picked up and raked, the pavilions to be “tidied” up, so if you have a few hours to donate, it is greatly appreciated!  Want to make it a family thing?  YES please!   We can’t allow the kiddies in the pool area, (acid and chemicals) but with your guidance it would be awesome if they wanted to help out in the grove / pavilion area!   It’s what the Knights of Columbus is all about!  A community of shared interests and values focusing on helping others, social activities and involvement!    Along with the pool opening it is also the start of the men’s softball league season!  Interested in playing?  Please give Jimmy Lintner a text at 301-646-2344. Speaking of softball………………the Holy Redeemer Softball team is the guest bartenders and cooks THIS FRIDAY!  Bar opens up at 4:00 pm.  Come on up and give Kyle a hard time………   The dinner special Friday night is Steak & Chicken fajita’s with Spanish rice, Pinto beans, chips & salsa with a fixin’s bar and dessert for $15.00  If possible, please pre-order here:  tinyurl.com/2zck47j4
Have you stopped by the Clubhouse lately and had a drink on the deck?  It’s looking beautiful thanks to Frank White and Krista Humphrey with their amazing green thumbs!  Come on up and enjoy!   Bar bingo and   of  Saturday at 7:30 pm.  Also the Preakness is this Saturday!  If you’re not bettin’ in Baltimore, why not buy a horse at the Clubhouse?!  Super fun and you could win some !! Please see the attached about the fire pit / patio furniture fundraiser!  GOOD LUCK!!   For all our AquaKnight Swimteam parents:  Here is the registration form for the two classes being offered for the Deck Ref/Starter/CJ PMSL certification.  Please send this information out to your team.   docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf0zkucn7nDkbdXLFlo7bDHtCnvo8FShWuZ5bBe7KGkZ9Cn8Q/viewform?usp=dialog
Below is information about Officials’ training for the 2025 PMSL season.  Please make plans to attend the courses you may need and forward this information to your team.
 Stroke and Turn Training
PMSL will once again be utilizing the USA Swimming officials’ training course this year for Stroke & Turn.  This course is a one-time $35 fee and can be used to become or recertify as a USA-S certified stroke and turn.
Please note that you will first need to create a logon with USA-S (USA-Swimming).  There are TWO courses that must be completed to become Stroke & Turn certified:
1.  Foundations of Officiating
2. Stroke & Turn Certification
Please use the attached instructions to access the Stroke & Turn courses and establish your USA-S log-on.
If you are someone who is a new official, a recertification/expired, or a USA Swimming certified official, you will need to complete the PMSL Officials FORM, including uploading certificates, by Saturday, June 7th to qualify to work the 1st PMSL meet.
 Referee/Starter/CJ Training
The Referee/Starter/CJ course for PMSL will still be taught via Zoom and the test will still be administered separately online.  Attendees MUST have worked as a Stroke & Turn official in PMSL for at least one year or be a USA-Swimming certified stroke & turn in good standing before attending.   Referee/Starter/CJ Training requires pre-registration. The course will be held on the following dates:

Participants must have their cameras on (unless allowed to turn off by the instructors during video presentations), and must answer at least 4/5 of the poll questions scattered throughout the presentation in order to get credit for attending the clinic.  Participants will need to pass an online, open-book test (information on applying for the test will be presented during the clinic).  We are always grateful for our amazing parent volunteers who help make our meets and events a success.  Your support truly makes a difference – thank you! Well, that’s all I have for now, stay dry and hope to see you soon.  Hug everyone you love!
