GO AQUAKNIGHTS!

XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

Aquaknight wrap up:
First, congratulations to all who qualified for the ALL STARS!  They are

Melissa Alessandrini • Justin Eppard Jack McKeown • Anna Pizzano Colin Burns • Gabrielle Kuhn (A)

Thanks to Vic Policarpio and Sarah Dennison for their tremendous efforts teaching our kids! They did a great job and the kids had fun too!

Our award banquet was a blast!  Thanks so much to everyone who brought food/Soda and a HUGE thanks to Betty (Toots) Taylor - Reilly's Mom, who organized the whole event and cooked the delicious lasagna!

We received awesome compliments on our pool while running the meets / mini meets and divisionals.  Big thanks to David Alessandrini and crew and swimmer's that helped set up the pool every Friday night.  Big hug to Joe Scafone who was our announcer, setter upper, all around to-go-to guy!

Our snack bar was the envy of all the pools!  Thanks so much to Tom and Ann Barrett, Laura Welsh and all who helped flippin' the food and pouring the drinks!  Thank you to Keith Hurst, Sean Moriarty and Kevin Kelly for manning the grill on divisionals!  I don't know how you guys did it in the 100 degree heat, but the chicken was de-lish!

In order to run an efficient and seamless meet, it takes everyone to pitch in, and everyone just about does!  I cannot thank our parents enough for stepping up and really helping out!  Hugh Gilmore does a fantastic job as our head timer!  Sharon George and Karen Konar is everyone's Mom when it comes to meet time - they are so patient with the kids over at clerk of course!  Big thanks also for Karen's fundraising efforts and Sharon and her husband Tony for selling the sno cones at divisionals.  It was a BIG HIT!

I can't thank Larry and Christy Cooper enough for their entire "whatever you need" attitude!  It's so reassuring to know that we can ask them to do just about anything (okay, maybe not weed whacking.....tee hee) but Larry and Christy fill in tirelessly, either as a referee, clerk of course, team rep, WHATEVER - they'll do it!!  Thank you so much!

Our ribbon writers, Theresa Shipley and June Kelly, are the best!  The two have a system that doesn't stop!  Thanks to Mary Kokonis for working the 50/50's, and to all the parents who donated food / water etc and our terrific timer's!

Thank you to all who attended the PMSL officer's meeting / seminar.  Along with Larry, Christy, and Bernadette we now have Brittney Potter, Charlotte Humphrey and Tim McKeown to count on for stroke and turn judges.  (Always need a few more though....:)

Enormous thank you's go to Val and Joe Cole!  Val stepped up this year to become our meet manager and we couldn't have a meet with out her!  She "managed" superbly!  and thanks to Joe for becoming our financial / treasurer guy.  Absolute big help!

Thank you to Krista Humphrey and her swim- stroke - turn knowledge as our team representative!

Noreen Burns sweat - I mean surf shop - was once again the talk of the town!  Thanks so much for all your hard work and for the Mom's that helped "man" the store!

Thank you to Brittanie Potter for singing our National Anthem on Saturday mornings, you have such a beautiful voice, and not only that, but taking the stroke and turn class AND organizing the Friday night activities!  And little Savannah is still a few years away from becoming an Aquaknight!

A big WELCOME to our newest swimmer's this year:

Lauren and Elise  Martin • Olivia Matheson • Chris and Matthew Murphy
Andrew and Thomas Proctor • Ciara Shaw • Mariana and Jeremiah Sheehan.

Congratulations to all!

A few final comments:

I cannot, in any way, thank Jay Konar enough for all he's done for this team. He is so funny, so patient and calm (well, the part that we see anyway) and beyond dedicated ~ he is going to be sorely missed, but he has certainly earned his retirement! Thanks again Jay for all that you do!

On that note, thank you goes to Mark Russo, who came out of retirement on a time or two (or three…..) to help with the data entry, etc to run our meets / mini meet / divisional. Thank you so much! I know Jay appreciates having another sane (???) body to talk to at the data table!

To all again, thank you! If I missed a few thank you's, please forgive me and believe me, I really appreciate all the help we had this year! Look for future notices of events during the winter!
