• Currently, most members receive the Knight Cap by mail, some (about 18%) subscribe by email. Some pick up a copy at the Clubhouse, others visit this site and click the link below. Unless we obtain 2 pages of ads, the Knight Cap will soon be mailed out only to those who specifically complete and mail back a subscription form. All others may either pick up a copy at the clubhouse, download a copy from the link below, or request to be added to the current email subscription list by clicking the button to the left, or by sending an email to knightcap@kofc2809.org.

• Don't forget the third Saturday of the month is Guest Bartender Day. The bartenders are members from one of the softball teams that play in the Knights of Columbus league at 2809. Please come up and show your support, it's always a lot of fun! Bar opens at 5:00.

• The next American Red Cross blood drive is Monday, February 13. We are encouraging everyone who wishes to give, to make an appointment in order to lessen wait times. Walk-ins (and anyone late for his/her appointment) will be given the next available appointment. You may also schedule your appointment online by clicking here. • Happy Valentine's Day! Please come out and join us, Sunday, February 12, for a Valentine Mass at 1:00pm at the Knights of Columbus club house. This will be followed by Wedding Renewal Vows. The Prince George's Council is located on Cherry Hill Road between Baltimore Boulevard (Route 1, exit 25 from Interstate 95/495) and Powdermill Road (Route 212 exit 31 from Interstate 95) at 9450 Cherry Hill Road, College Park, MD 20740. Council general membership meetings are held on the 2nd & 4th Mondays of each month at 8:00pm

Building Corporation meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of each month.

Fouth Degree Archbishop Michael J Curley Assembly meetings are held on the 1st & 3rd Mondays of each month.

Prince Georges Council No. 2809 was instituted (June 18, 1939) culminating the efforts of a band of forward looking Catholic gentlemen from Saint James in Mount Rainier, Saint Jerome's in Hyattsville and Holy Redeemer in College Park. These men visualized the eventual growth of population in Prince Georges County and saw the need for a Council in this part of the County. The first degree was held for a class of sixty men at St. Martin's School in Gaithersburg on the institution date. The first Grand Knight elected was Caesar L. Aiello and the membership grew in the first year to 184 members. The formal presentation of our Charter was made on February 24, 1941, by Maryland State Deputy Loeffier. We were, at that time, part of the 9th District, Maryland State Council along with three other Councils in Montgomery County.
