Here's what's Happening this week -September 16, 2020
Hello everybody! What a gorgeous weekend, right? It's makes it a bit easier to say "bye bye" to the pool!
Hoping the teacher's and parents are getting used to their new "normal" routine? We've been praying for you! (special prayers for the parents that are teachers too)!!
If you've sold any of the 51st Annual Car Raffle tickets you can turn them in at the bar, or give them to the volunteer who hands you your dinner on Friday night! Thank you!
Big congratulations to Joe Scafone who was named Knight of the Month for September and to the Aquaknights' Joyce and Joseph Cooper and their Kids as the Family of the Month. We really appreciate all that you do for our Council and Families. Thank you!
Wacky Wing Wednesday is the 16th! Lots and lots of sauce choices, any way you want them! 50 cents a wing. You can mix and match too! Kitchen opens at 6:00 pm. Call ahead and order for take out. We'll deliver to the "circle". 301-345-4076.
The first flyer is for the Point 1 K which is this Saturday! I made a mistake earlier, the race is virtual and live! All proceeds benefit the Maryland Special Olympics. This fun run (or walk), starts at the beginning of the driveway and ends all-the-way-to the end of the driveway! With a few refreshment stops along the way. It's for a fantastic cause, please participate! Bring the whole family!
We are helping the St Joseph's Food Pantry with a collection box in the Clubhouse. Please drop off any non-perishable foods, thank you!
Friday night's dinner special is Country Fried Chicken with Gravy, Mashed Potatoes and Greens for $15. yum Please pre-order here: https://tinyurl.com/ y69khy9a
For everyone who remembers Calverton Crew Hank Smigocki or his wife Elaine (who played shuffleboard), their son Mike Smigocki just published a book "With Intent to Deceive" You can purchase it on Amazon. I just started reading it, it's a thriller for sure!
Shuffleboard every Thursday night around 7:00 pm. Come on up!
We've had a few indoor and outdoor catering events which is awesome! (and much needed) A beautiful wedding just last Saturday! CDC mandates that we can have 65 people in the Fernandez Room (for now) with 6 people to a table. If you are in need of anything like that, or if you can please spread the word, that would be great! Room rentals and catering. Please call 301-345-4076. Thank you!!
Let's talk about some FOOTBALL!! Boy what a game!! At the Clubhouse, Dante Lopresti served up some delicious fresh Steak-n-Cheese Subs and we served Steve O's crafted housemade salsa - he even used the peppers from the Clubhouse garden! DELISH. Joe Scafone did his best to get the game in the Beer Garden - it was super fun! A spectacular day to watch the game outside! Plus a little Cornhole too! This Sunday's game starts at 4:05 against the Cardinals. The Clubhouse will open at 1:00 pm and the Beer Garden will open at 3:00 pm. (weather permitting) The special of the day is Nacho's and Chili Dogs. Perfect.
There are a few more squares in the 50/50 pool. We would really like to wrap it up by this weekend. $170 a square. Split it with a friend! Ask your friendly bartender how you can sign up today!
The second flyer is about the 1st Annual Charity Mustang Car Show!! How exciting!? The Show will take place on Saturday, October 24th. Please share with your Mustang lovin' friends! All registration fees will be donated to the Maryland Special Olympics. Super cool!
Queen of Hearts will be pulled every Saturday night at 7:30. Only $1 a chance. Questions? Please see Tim Keifline or your friendly bartender.
I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but I bet you stopped reading by now anyway, so this is it. Have a great rest of your week. Please stay healthy and safe and hope to see you soon!
